Taxi!
Those are water taxis on False Creek in Vancouver, BC -- our mode of transportation from Kitsilano Beach to the market at Granville Island and back. The journey was more important than the destination to me.
This was after a very long, late lunch at Darby's pub. I'm very happy to report that the beer in Vancouver has imroved a lot since our last visit a few years ago -- they've even started brewing sours! Cynthia made a point of telling our server that it was my 75th birthday, which got us each a free beer.
As we followed a trail hugging the shoreline on our way to Kitsilano beach, the looming clouds retreated and we were regretting our pessimistic oulook in leaving our sunglasses at our temporary home.
We walked over five miles and enjoyed every minute of it. The Friday night revellers were out in force as we returned, and we decided to quietly enjoy the leftovers from last night's delicious Indian meal.
This has been one of my best birthdays ever!
