Today
Despite a late start, we've taken nearly 15,000 steps each today, as well as having a number of pleasant encounters along the way, making for a very memorable 75th birthday for Phil.
We've covered considerable ground in the Kitsilano neighborhood of Vancouver, B.C., on a day that began cool and cloudy and ended sunny and delightful. On the way, we've learned of a brewery in eastern Vancouver that we'll have to try soon; been treated to "birthday beers" with our late lunch in Darby's Public House by our excellent server; chatted with a 71-year-old man from Albania, pushing his toddler grandson in a stroller; taken several rides on the False Creek Ferries water taxis, which look like a child's toy; strolled through the iconic Granville Market; bought a bottle of excellent B.C. white wine to have with our evening meal of leftover outstanding Indian food from last night; and had a thoroughly enjoyable day!
My blip was taken near sunset on Kitsilano Beach, a favorite place for families, dog lovers, walkers, joggers, and beach volleyball players, all of whom we saw today.
