Crochet and beads
It is a lovely sunny Sunday, but as I have awaoken with a swollen left toe, I am staying at home.
Paul said Google gout, so I did and discovered I am not alone in this particular suffering.
I could have got it as a result of wet trainers and socks yesterday when we walked on swampy grass at Malham Tarn.
It got me out of bed early enough to watch Beechgrove Garden, which I aspire to follow every Sunday, but today it was on at 7:15am!
By then, I had soaked my feet in a basin of warm water and a sprinkling of tea tree oil, but the swelling and itchiness remained the same.
Two ibuprofen did make a difference.
I feel better for having on my heat keeper socks.
Gout is horrid and I feel annoyed not to have freedom to go to the shops and visit the Grandchildren.
Anyway, the crochet has kept me busy, and I am hopeful the swelling will go down soon.
Drinking 2 litres of water daily is recommended for this condition and bilberries are also good to reduce the build up of uric acid in the joint area.
