Salisbury Cathedral

A super day trip which took in Winchester, Salisbury, Stonehenge and Avebury. Great to visit some many places I have never visited before.

We found Winchester to be a wonderful little city with so many areas of peaceful tranquil car-free spaces surrounded by beautiful edwardian buildings. The city is brimming with heritage and our visit far to short to fully appreciate. The Cathedral a total stunner. 

Salisbury a magnificent cathedral 

Stonehenge rather overcrowded, but stones absolutely magnificent in the late afternoon sunshine.

Avebury the stone circle is absolutely outstanding, vast and beautifully atmospheric in the gloaming moonlight.
