Hobbits and orks
Today I decided to go to the Tolkien weekend at Newcastle Castle. It was great! Loads of people in costumes and some awesome little stalls all set in the grounds of a beautiful place I didn't even know existed. When looking at a stall I heard shouting and a hobbit ran past me followed by an ork...scared the hell out of me! There was a birds of prey demonstration and some amazing broth and fresh bread. Fantastic! The weather was brilliant today and really warm and the castle itself is well worth another visit I think! Hopefully there will be another event there sometime soon.
Then I went for a walk along the quayside and through the market. I saw all the motorbikes lined up from people going to the funeral of the young man killed in the motorbike accident a week or so ago. Sad news :( he was a dad and husband. But I love that everyone rode over to celebrate his life today. There was something heart warming about that at least.
I got talking to a woman who had a skirt sewn the way I would like to sew mine for my ursula costume for Halloween. She gave me some pointers and even her number in case I had any questions! It's great the people your meet when your out and about and your on your feet.
So a night of sewing and the hobbit films ahead. I have been inspired!
