Forging Ahead

Having missed most of Doors Open Day yesterday after church we nipped out to the Ratho Byres Forge, run by the Johnson family.

We saw work in progress for a Council in Aberdeenshire, watched demonstrations of shaping the steel from the forge and, as here, Colin and Mark getting on with their work with some welding. Their gallery showed scale drawings and examples of original designs and the many commissions undertaken and a variety of gifts.
