Mallards

I did some gardening this morning, but it kept raining on and off and in the end I gave up; as I was tidying up, a female duck appeared asking to be fed.

I went into the orchard part of the garden and a male and a female, obviously a pair appeared. Followed by a mummy and six half-grown ducklings, followed by our orphans; sadly only four. There is a black and white duckling in the family of six, not sure where its markings came from.

Mr A had been taking some pictures and has blipped one of the orphans stealing from the male. I borrowed his camera and took some pictures and today's blip shows the female Mallard with her six children. Another picture showing the orphans can be seen here.
