Moonery...

..So.

I was awake and bebothered anyway (it's a Full Moon Thing for me. I fortunately, fall just this side short of howling. Mostly).
I thought that as I was awake, I might as well pop and have a look at the much heralded Moon Event.
And then, one thing leading inevitably to another, concluded that perhaps I should pop and fetch the camera from downstairs.
The camera was up for it as far as bright full moonery was concerned.
It required a little more thought, sadly, on the 'settings' front, as the redness (and darkness - who knew?) of the blood moon occured.
'Tripod'! I concluded (inspirationally foggily. In much the same vein as the elderly relative yesterday).
It's funny how you think you're awake, and yet simple tasks turn into a mixture of 'Groundhog Day' and a 'Carry On' movie.
I wrestled with an octopus of a tripod (whilst trying to keep the dressing gown fastened at the front. Tying the belt had not crossed my mind. Don't ask).
I do recall at one point that I decided the tripod probably only needed two full legs, so that it could get nearer to the window (??) as long as it used me as support in lieu of its other leg - and I could press the camera shutter with my left hand (raised over my head, obviously; owing to the fact that it would have been in shot had it taken the shorter, more comfortable route. Easier said than done in the event).

I eventually returned to bed, having left a trail of camera bags, tripod paraphenalia and a big pile of books (?) I'd opted to attempt to lean on before the tripod eureka moment.

Most of my images were useless. This one (with the teeniest tweak of added lightness from photoshop) looks most like what I actually saw through the lens).
All in all I was pleased I opted to experience the event 'live'.

I didn't get to sleep though.

Too much excitement probably.

(Still woefully behind with commenting. I shall catch up).
