Super Saturday
WOW! What a Super Saturday!
I was up early to climb Pen-Y-Fan to start with, the first time I’ve been up there since May. Time flies, and a lot has happened since then. I was very lucky, the weather was beautiful and the views from the summit were superb. Because I was up there early as well, I only saw a couple of people on the summit, as I made my way down there were loads coming up.
Next up was a trip to the Gnoll to watch Neath take on Cardiff, the starter before the main course this evening you could say. Sadly it was a disappointing game, our defence was like Moses parting the Red Sea on times, shocking. We lost 24-28, it really wasn’t that close.
And so to the main event as Wales took on England in the Rugby World Cup at Twickenham. We started off well but then England came back and started to take control, but at half time Wales were just about still in the game. And that was the thing, despite England’s dominance Wales just kept on hanging on in there. More injuries for Wales as we lost 3 backs, wingers had to play in the centre, outside halves had to play full back and scrum halves had to play as wingers. It seem to galvanise Wales and unbelievably they conjured up a magnificent try and it was all level going into the last 10 minutes. England were shell shocked and before you knew it, Wales had a penalty to take the lead with 5 minutes to go. England were desperate and the pressure was immense, they had a chance with a penalty but missed it and then with time running out they had one last penalty. Instead of going for goal, they went for the win, and Wales held out. An epic game!
So proud to be Welsh!
