Blood Moon

Well–had to be the Blood Moon as I may not be around for the next and given the trouble it caused me! ( I tried reducing the noise in Flickr but ended up with a blood orange moon so noise it will have to be! I think rather than a man in the moon it looks like a monkey in the moon!)Having discovered it was not the night of the 28th - well it was but not as I had understood it! – I set my tripod up in the attic, dragging the wooden chest and my bed away from the attic window. Given the tripod was covered in sand and stiff this was my first struggle! The next came when setting the camera up on it! The window won’t stay open fully so I had to hold it with one hand whilst trying to angle and tighten  the tripod – yeh, well, with the lens fully extended I couldn’t find the blessed thing, but if not extended it was not focused correctly – much gymnastics, swearing and struggling later I got it! Next problem getting the timer to work and not take it before it was focused! Finally worked out if I kept the button depressed it would do it – but not always! Then of course it was adjusting aperture, focus style or AF mode as my camera calls it, and ISO!!! Constantly! It’s a good job I’m obstinate and persistent! The first session was at 1.00am, then again at 3.15 am. So set ALL my alarms so that I wouldn’t sleep through! Then had to readjust everything all over again and contend with Fat Cat who thought if I was awake I could play with her! Then it was reset the alarm for 7.00am and chicken duty!
But oh my what a sight it was!
The rest of the day was one of contrast – forgot my gardening gloves so had to spray the redmites with noxious fluid and poo pick with my bare hands! Then it was home, decide what to blip for the previous day and see whether anything that looked so good in the camera was actually any good when viewed and played with in Lightroom! Well that was another frustrating episode! Having done my best I left it to shower and gather myself for lunch in Royal Williams Yard in Plymouth! It was my treat for looking after Party Girl’s Mother’s chickens!!  Friend also came after her scan - another week to wait to see what has been going on in her body since the last one.
Lunch was very good then they all left and I shopped! I am now the owner of  a lovely soft blue Jodhpur shaped jumper with bell sleeves from the elbow. I also have  lots of bits and pieces, including 3 huge keys, to make jewellery as none I tried on were quite right but they sold all the bits to make your own! The shops in the Yard are very stylish and Arty and I was wearing my finest clothes and jewellery and it couldn’t have been a more different appearance than the one I looked and smelt like on the allotment!!! I also took a few photographs as the cow had moved and then I came upon another one!
I hit traffic on the way home but it was quite nice to sit and listen to the radio as we stopped started all the way through Plymouth until I hit the Tamar Bridge road! Now blip done I can relax and I plan an early night and a lie in! I am even contemplating not blipping tomorrow and just playing catch up on others journals! We’ll see how that idea goes tomorrow! But after listening to a radio programme about people who have chosen a monastic life, and been hither and thither the last two days,  I rather fancy a very quiet contemplative, mindful day!
