A Tall Bridge over the Tees

is the Middlesbrough Transporter bridge. (also known affectionately as 'The Tranny')
The bridge reopened last May after a major refurbishment and the suspended gondola which can carry up to 9 cars was fitted with a roof and glass sides.
Recently a new glass lift was installed (right of the main shot) where the public can go up to the very top of the bridge. This opened briefly about a month ago, but unfortunately is currently closed due to technical problems. Another visit in the future is required! 
Today's extra photo shows the gondola crossing the river. In the background to the right you can see the steel works on the coast just North of Redcar.
