Pretty flamingo

It was quite rough in the night when we sailed to the new location Today we had a wet landing on a beach at an island called Chinese Hat.

The sun came out as we walked over the lava on the volcanic island. We saw seals and crabs, then had a snorkel. Although it was quite choppy, we were able to go to rocks by a sandy beach where we saw lots of pretty fish. Shame our camera wasn't able to show how pretty they were. I did ok at the snorkelling and enjoyed it. (Mr C swam beside me for a bit till I got enough confidence). We were lucky to see some very small penguins swim by - they are similar to the little ones we saw in Chile, but are unique to here. Some people saw a shark and a turtle but we didn't. We then came back and the boat got going again - it was very choppy and Mr C felt ill so he missed lunch and had a sleep.

Later we went to Baccus Beach, but we decided not to swim, as we took so long getting the boat refuelled, so we just had the walk to a little inland lake with shallow water to see a few pink flamingoes.
