Aperture on Life

St Ives

Cornwall advertises itself as a place to bring your dog.  They are welcome in most shops, restaurants and bars but, there isn't much you can do on the coastline.  Most of the beaches are banned to dogs until the 1st of October, the best walks are along cliff edges and the moors I liked best had mine shafts that were definitely not safe for two working dogs.  They're never left out of control but it's too easy for them to want to sniff too close to a hundred foot drop.  I don't think they've ever been on a lead so much.

I was surprised to see the beach in in the centre of St. Ives was dog friendly. I didn't have towels with me as I wasn't expecting them to swim but couldn't take them back to the car without letting them have a good run.

All well until Cocoa found something to roll in...yeuch.  One very smelly drive back to the campsite where the dog was shampooed and drowned under the hose.
