San Pedro de Atacama

Our first stop in Chile was a lovely little town in the middle of the desert. Not much to do in town but a lot of activities around catered for with the 100's of tour agencies lining the streets! You may think the Chileans are a little patriotic with all these flags but we arrived only days after they celebrated their Independence Day. We enjoyed a couple of local beers while watching the Rugby World Cup to settle into our first night. This town had an expensive price tag, so after sunny breakfast on the main square we were on a 17 hour bus ride to Central Chile.
