ONE OF A PAIR

There was a pair of what I would call Sandpipers on the beach.  Every time the dogs got too close they would fly away, but not too far.  I noticed that when the stopped, they wold both nestle down in the warm sand.  Into peoples foot prints, I think.  There is an extra of one doing that.
