Nelson Monument

After dropping BB off at breakfast club, I just wanted to go for walk and enjoy the sunshine.  It was only 7.40am, but it was already a lovely day.  Unfortunately I had to head to work.  There was a distinct lack of people in the office, as a number of colleagues were out at an event.  I went out for a wander at lunchtime and almost didn’t go back – and it was so warm and sunny, I could have easily found a spot to read my book in the sun.

After what seemed like a long afternoon in the office, I was really glad to be heading home as I was a bit weary.

Here is Edinburgh's Nelson Monument on Calton Hill. It looks like a tall stone telescope, and contains a time ball which is dropped at 1 o’clock every day.
