In Search of Smooth Roads

Another beautiful evening so had to hop on the bike for a cycle after work. The window of opportunity is getting smaller as the sun is dipping at about 7pm - still light, but not great to be out on the bike. So I took a route up to Gladhouse reservoir, intending to do a loop. Then remembered how horribly bumpy the final bit of road is, so turned back on myself to return home. Discovered that the road alongside the reservoir is very smooth - and that you notice these things on a bike with skinny tyres.
The reservoir looked beautiful, not a breath of wind to disturb it. Would have been great to be out there in a canoe.
