I have seen the light......
I had my Mam, write a note, to have me excused from any physical exertion on the street today. it is hard enough trying to avoid the muggers, let alone having to dodge the incessant rain that has crossed these shores lately.
Sat at home my attention was set to be concentrated on the back garden. The one thing about rain is that "Her Indoors", can't put any washing out. I actually get a chance to view the bottom of the garden without the fear of towels and various smalls breezing into view.
The biggest recent addition to our local fauna is a family of Jays. The parents have been visiting for weeks, but now they are joined with an issue of three. They, at least, are not put off by the wet stuff and their ground ballet is something else.
I pulled out my Canon 30D to take these shots. I haven't used it for a while. It is getting a bit dated these days but it still delivers. I see that some of the new cameras have incredible ISO values of 6400 and 12800. I understand that the next Nikon will have only two speeds;-marked as "Sound" and "Light".
I noticed the EXIF data for this shot states it was taken on a 200 mm lens. What it doesn't state is the 1.4X multiplier afixed to the end and the 1.6 magnification of the EOS sensor.
200 x 1.4 x 1.6 =448 mm
Getting away with a 1/80 sec exposure and handheld at that-I'm quite chuffed.
