A Freakin Laserrrrrr

A day away from the office today. A trip up to the NEC in Birmingham to the Time Compression Technologies (TCT) show. For Time Compression Technologies read rapid prototyping. We use it quite a bit at work, and trying to stay on top of developments is a handy thing.

Most of the developments seem to be heading towards the lower end of the market, the home / consumer end.

We have made use of Direct Metal Laser Sintering (making rapid prototype bits by melting metal powder with a laser) a few times in the past, and here is one of the machines that was demonstrating the technology at the show.
