Pink out for Planned Parenthood
I joined up with a few hundred other folks for a rally at lunchtime in support of Planned Parenthood. This young woman was one of a few younger people out there, and with her adorable little one. It was a wonderful experience to talk to women who each had her own story to tell about women's rights, women's health, and their experiences with Planned Parenthood over these many, many decades. And it was sad to be back out there, fighting for funding for such a great organization, and to feel, as some of us did, like we're back fighting for women just like we did in 1970, before Roe vs. Wade.
"In my opinion, the battles over birth control and Planned Parenthood are primarily neither political nor religious. This is an issue of equality for women. This is an issue of women's rights: Planned Parenthood is the most important private provider of reproductive health care for women in the United States." - Karen DeCrow
