Market Day
We thought Lenno had quite a large market until we saw how large the market in Desenzano is. Like Lenno, the market in Desenzano stretches along the lakeside though the centre of the town. Most of the merchandise on sale is similar, though with a much larger selection of goods available, even stretching to fur coats.
The morning was quite cool, but the weather warmed up in the afternoon. By three in the afternoon the road sweeping equipment was out in force, and by four in the afternoon all trace of the market had been removed.
We had lunch at the bar on the right side of the port as seen in the photograph. This is called the old port (Porto Vecchio), and is only used by small boats. We have seen that many of the boats go out each day, one or two of them every day in the afternoon.
