I see no chimneys, Joe.
Up and off to the beach at the crack of dawn to meet Betty and Joe for a beach bacon bap and coffee. In the sunshine. It was 22° degrees today! (Though not at that early hour). In this part of the world, that is HOT! And not even usual in our 'summers', let alone October.
JR dropped me off further along the main road, so that I could pop to Betty's house. The plan was that I would then walk back along the beach with Betty and Joe, then take the car home and JR would get the bus. She often wants to 'pop into town'. However, JR seemed to forget the arrangements, for when she arrived at the spot where she left the car, it was NOT THERE! A frantic phone call to me followed.
'Have you got the car?'
'Yes.'
'Thank goodness!'
However, I went and collected her, just for the fun of driving the new car. It's more fun driving without Archie - you can wing around corners and woosh away at lights without having to be slow and steady for the carsick passenger.
Home again by 10:30, washed out washing out, then J arrived to see if Arch wanted to come out to play with Bailey. No need to ask - he goes crazy when he sees her. So off they went. For the whole day, as it happens.
So I brought the car to Uncle A for his inspection. He declared it splendid, and was most taken with the 'mood lights', sunroof, sat nav and wee sporty steering wheel.
Archie is now back home, having spent most of his day out and about - sniffing smells, running hither and thither, meeting other dogs - generally having a brilliant doggy day. Why is he not fast asleep now? Why not? Because Bailey is with us while her mum goes to the movies. He cannot relax unless Bailey is asleep too. I'll put the rugby on - that'll send them off...
The photo is of Betty and Joe looking to see where the two chimneys once were. Archie is more interested in a stinky old razor clamshell, of course.
PS Archie was up Arthur's Seat today with Bailey!
