Candle making

Today I visited an NGO project that helps children who have become heads of families after loosing their parents, pretty tough at 14 to have to become the mother, father and bread-winner all rolled into one. 

The project enrols children on a three year curriculum where they learn skills essential to them - such as budgeting, coping with long term planning and also how to run a small business.  They then also produce a small range of products including candles that are sold, with a percentage of the revenue going directly to the children. Pretty cool stuff. 

It has also rained today!! Who knew that rain could make you feel quite so at home and the sheer delight of hearing thunder followed by the patter of rain drops.  Just delightful.
