Icelandic stone people

A year ago we bought some of these stone people during a festival in our town. Since then we have been looking for more, and recently I found the card of the artist during a cleaning up exercise in the study. Today we went to her house, and it was very difficult to choose one or two since there were so many. We ended up buying 6, but 3 will be presents, soon there will be Icelandic stone people living in Finland and South Africa, as well as in Iceland. There are a number of people doing similar things with stones here, but I like this woman's best.

I have been very lazy posting blips, maybe the month of October will inspire me. It always reminds me of a famous Afrikaans poem that has this phrase 'dit is die maand Oktober, die mooiste mooiste maand' -it is the month of October, the loveliest loveliest month'.
