The Ruins of Saint Miguel

The ruins of Saint Miguel, in south brazilian country were built between 1735 and 1750, and later destroyed in a bloody war between Spanish jesuit priests, their educated natives and the Portuguese army.
The florescent and peaceful civilization was totally destroyed and the natives dispersed. This conflict marked the end of the civilization of "Reduções Jesuíticas". The archaeological site is now a UNESCO recognized patrimony of the whole mankind. I have taken this picture during a touristic show in memory of the story.
