Who killed cock robin?

I thought there was blood on the track as I walked to the coast at sundown but it was 'only' what remained of a robin that must have been taken by a peregrine or other raptor that struck out of the blue sky.

Later in the evening I watched a random TV documentary on the KKK and racial violence in the American South. Mostly I was struck by the deprived and joyless lives of the gun-toting white folk who rely on hatred and religious bigotry to give meaning to their lives.

Later still I heard the news of another mass shooting in the same country. More blood on the tracks.
It's time to take the weapons away.
