Art Lesson

Dante Gabriel Rosetti (1828-1882), English poet, illustrator and painter who "founded the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in 1848 with William Holman Hunt and John Everett Millais, and was later to be the main inspiration for a second generation of artists and writers influenced by the movement, most notably William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones." (Wikipedia) and whose simple sketch of Elizabeth Siddal - his muse, passion, and later his wife, never fails to capture the interest of the observer with its graceful and elegant movement.  Elizabeth was a poet and artist in her own right, but perhaps best known as model for the Pre-Raphaelites, most famously, as Ophelia by Sir John Everett Millais in 1851 when she was just 19.  Students copy Rossetti's sketch using water colour as they practice being able to see and create.
