High tide

I had a lot to do at home today, but went out for a blast of fresh air at high tide, rather than my usual low tide.

I try to collect some rubbish each time I go, as there is a big bin provided by the council who encourage everyone who visits to pick up 3 items of rubbish.  I didn't go prepared with a bag today, so only got some bits of nylon rope, and the sole of a shoe.  Parts of shoes are in the top ten of items I collect - where do they all come from?!  Are they the most lost personal items, given the frequency that they also appear on top of bus shelters and the like?
