Pathfinder in Malaga
Tonight I'm playing the pathfinder role for our Andalusia holiday. I'm staying at this hotel near Malaga airport so I can pick up the minivan and do some food shopping before everyone else arrives at 10:20am tomorrow.
Today was the day that I should have been watching a cricket match at Headingley (for the first time in over 30 years) with Dad and Charles, but it was abandoned due to heavy raining without a single ball being bowled. Instead, we met in Leeds, went for coffee then a look round Leeds City Museum, then went for lunch at Gusto - the place we used to know as Le Celle. Mum came with us so it was a nice and rare opportunity to get together as a family.
I flew Ryanair from Leeds Bradford after our long three course lunch. On the plane I finished Robin Knox-Johnston's book 'A World Of My Own' and spent about two hours learning Spanish phrases on my iphone apps. It was dark by time we landed and although this hotel was supposed to be next to the airport, a taxi ride was necessary. I thought I might not need dinner after a big lunch, but I was wrong. I went to the Burger King just down the road. It's quite exciting being out here on my own. I hope everything goes alright tomorrow.
