Sun over the Manor

We are having a glorious spell of weather at the moment.  The mornings are misty and chilly with many of spiders' webs everywhere - I noticed masses of them covering the dead heads of the cow parsley while walking the dog early on. The intense dew concentration highlighting the webs really shows just how prolific this little creature is!

The sun broke through and we had clear blue skies.  It was a day as Volunteer in Waddesdon Manor for me - a little dull at first with very few visitors but livened up later on as more came round; it is a place that needs people in it to appreciate its finery.  

I felt a bit sorry for a coachload of Americans who arrived about half an hour before closing time - they were so interested but had to be kept moving on - we did our best to point out the 'must see' items for them to remember.
