Castlerigg Stone Circle
Lovely mists again this morning so another early start. Gail suggested Castlerigg Stone Circle for the mists, so all four of us headed over there. We had the place to ourselves ... apart from the sheep! As you can see in my blip there were lovely mists hanging over the hills and some great fluffy clouds.
Back for a hearty breakfast and then took a trip over to Bassenthwaite lake. Please see the extra - the reflections were amazing. Our final visit today was to Derwentwater Landing Stage and Friars Crag where the other two extras were taken. At the edge of the water, a father and his young daughter were throwing stones into the water. The little girl was so sweet and seemed to really enjoy making big splashes in the water.
Today we had an early dinner in the Middle Ruddings Country Inn (couldn't resist the steak and ale pie again!) and then it was back to LPH to watch the rugby. Can't say i'm a huge fan of rugby but there were certain aspects of it worth watching!! ;-)) It will be Gill and Trevor's 30th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately I won't be able to join them for the celebrations as i'll be flying out to the States for a workshop, so they, very kindly, bought a bottle of bubbles for an early celebration. This was accompanied by our host, Gail's, legendary sticky toffee pudding. Gail and Mike joined us, as well as Debs (who is replacing Gail later in the year and will be doing all the cooking). Debs has a lot to live up to!! ;-))
As you might have realised these are back blips. Early tomorrow morning i'm off to the States - doing a photography workshop in New England. So I will apologise in advance as I might not get the chance to comment on your lovely journals - but i'll look forward to catching up with you all when I return. :)
