Sparrowhawk

I was expecting today's blip to be another shot from my little project on Worsley Woods (see extras for that), but I glanced out of the window before heading out to do the food shop this morning to see this sparrowhawk devouring a pigeon in next door's garden. It stayed long enough to find the camera, put the long lens on and retrieve the tripod - and to let me then take a good number of shots.
