Me: So, when we get a dog, will we let him on the furniture?
Dave: No, probably best not to let him on the furniture.
Me: And what about letting him upstairs?
Dave: Nope, best keep the dog domain downstairs.
Me: so I guess no dog snoozing on the bed then.
Dave: no, the dog is not allowed on the bed.

The dog arrives. The dog rules the house.
