Please sleep
Sleep, it would appear, it not for little boys. Suddenly, the nighttime routine includes 1am, 4.30am and 6am - or thereabouts. What happened to my boy who would only ever, ever wake at 3.30 / 4am and sometimes go the whole night through. I liked that little boy.
Normally, the saviour is the boy's morning sleep - until about 9am - I love it, time to myself. Today - oh no, we went to see the cows and calves at 7am, then back, getting increasingly grizzley, despite calling on all known ways of getting him to sleep - at 12pm it was time to deploy the push chair and push him around the garden. I got 30 minutes of running around getting residency paper work done before lunch time.
Becoming increasingly tired - and probably difficult to live with, Dirk suggested that maybe I'd like an afternoon sleep - only in the name of helping the boy sleep. Rather than polity suggest that it wasn't needed, I spent a lovely afternoon curled up with the boy and woke up to find a dog asleep on my feet having clearly also thought it was a good idea.
