La Ronda de Boltaña
... have featured here before. They were playing at the fiesta in Broto today. After a walk to a nearby hermitage in the morning, we started our restaurant research in the lower part of Aínsa (as opposed to the upper touristy part). Our 13-euro menu (three courses, wine, water, bread) was worth what we paid, but would have been better value if someone had paid a bit more attention to the cooking, and not overcooked my trout and undercooked S's chips.
After lunch we went to Broto, which turned out to be incredibly boring. Twenty minutes was more than enough to exhaust our interest, and then we headed a short way up the road to Torla. Unlike our visit last August, it wasn't full, and the visitor centre was open, so we had a look around the exhibits, followed by a coffee in town. By the time we got back to Broto, la Ronda had started playing, so we joined the happy crowd on the square to listen. I think the whole population was there, from babes in arms to grannies, dancing and singing along to their favourite songs.
