The Good Bit of the Day
Before the football at Firhill.
Went over to Glasgow on the train with J and T - early as J was going to perform a reading at CCA. From their website...
Artist and poet Alec Finlay is the ‘author’ of a new work: a found poem composed entirely from public responses to the Smith Commission, allowing multiple voices to engage in a complex and conflicted discourse. The resulting document seeks a political settlement beyond conventional political language. Finlay merely collects, reshapes, and adds space, allowing resonance to emerge. The work of poetry, composed entirely of public responses to the Smith Commission in the wake of the 2014 Scottish Independence Referendum, is being read at selected times during the run of The Shock of Victory exhibition (Sat 19 Sep - Sun 1 Nov).
This lunchtime was J's turn. Once she got into her stride she gave it a good go, and I think she enjoyed the whole experience.
More than can be said of another afternoon suffering with my fellow United fans as the team, currently with an interim manager, slumped to another disappointing defeat to a team that hadn't won all season. Seems that is a service we are providing this autumn!
