Looking towards Otterton Church
This morning started very foggy but the sun was starting to break through as we set off on a short historic walk around East Budleigh. This was a view looking from an old woodland area towards Otterton Church. Its still very misty in the distance.
A very interesting walk with lots of local anecdotes including the locations of three monasteries one with a large apple orchard for cider making, several mills, the household bucket and chuck it field, a pub that was fairly raucous where people visiting the local churches would be escorted past. The extra photo is taken from the local church where many of the pews had decorative wooden carvings on the ends. This one appears much like a Red Indian. The others tended to be of family decorations including the Coats of Arms of the Raleigh family.
