Red, White and Blue

It's Open Studios weekend in town, but I lack the get-up-and-go to get up and go. There are around 150 participants in the North County segment today and tomrorow, and an equal number in South County next weekend. I remember when "going for a drive" was a good thing--you'd drive simply for the sake of driving, and maybe get an ice cream somewhere along the way, but getting in a car now is a trial of traffic that I'd prefer not to deal with, even though some remarkable folks are showing their work along the back roads. There are a few artists within walking distance; maybe I'll stroll around tomorrow and see what they're up to.
