Peace

A hectic day! Decided to see Grants dad which is a 2 hour drive north. The kids were very demanding the whole way so by the time we got there we were already frazzled! We didn't spend much more than an hour or so there as it's quite hard work keeping tabs on the kids in a cottage that is not at all child friendly whilst trying to spend time with grandad who is practically silent. Lucie was brill patting his arm and trying to give him her dolly. Sammy was shy this time round. So we drove back, both kids slept for a short time giving us 10 mins of peace before Luce woke and screamed like I've never heard before. We could not stop her, even pulled over on the motorway in case she was in pain. I think she had just had enough. I sang the same song over and over, which eventually calmed her and brought us home relatively peacefully.
So glad for bedtime tonight!
