Eyeballed

Sometimes the look they give you can be a bit intimidating. They may not be as big as the reds but fallow deer have very big antlers and impressive bellows. You can get quite close to the stags at this time of year but I always think it best to respect their personal space and back off quietly if they give off any signals that suggest they might be agitated at all.  To be honest, ever since I was chased by the cows I've been a bit more wary of all loose animals!

So, we did return to Petworth Park this morning as it turned into a beautiful day once the mist cleared away. And on the way home we did indeed have a coffee with Mum and Dad. Uncle John and Roger the Rook* also put in an appearance.
