Halls Croft, Stratford on Avon
CP spotted, in her internet travels, an article about a special exhibition on the First World War in Stratford. Included in this was a few lines about Clopton House, a grand mansion nestling in a fold of the Welcome Hills. This building is old having links with Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot, but her interest was that her Grandparents met there when her Granny was a nurse and her Granddad was invalided back from Gallipoli, so we went to have a look.
However here we have a picture of a room inside Halls Croft the house where William Shakespeare's daughter lived after she married a doctor, and it is near to Holy Trinity Church. It was one of the largest houses in Stratford at the time. Spot CP with Ziggy.
