Over the Border.
Misty morning as we travelled over the border into Lancashire.
Down a very narrow country lane to the car park, where we met up with the rest of our walking club, and the start of today's walk, in Wycoller village.
Always like stepping back in time when you visit this hidden gem of a place.
My photo shows the little beck.
Autumn leaves on the floor, and some lovely reflections in the water.
A real babbling brook.
We walked up out of the village towards the moors, on the Bronte Way.
The heather has finished flowering, and the bracken is changing colour.
Some wonderful views, although still misty.
We stopped for lunch by a little stream, and then walked down to the village of Trawden.
Back up the hillside, where we watched a sheep dog rounding up a flock of sheep.
Lovely to see the dog working so well to the commands of the farmers whistle.
Then it was back down to Wycoller.
a very enjoyable 7 mile walk, on what may be the last good day of this Indian Summer.
See map for details of where we were.
