Eat the Frog

This has been on my mind since Friday evening when Manda mentioned it to me. I woke at 9, still full of cold & head thumping. Jon made tea and brought me paracetamol to start my day. We then sat in bed and I told him about the 'Eat the Frog' thing. We basically need to get on and deal with the things that will make a difference to our lives, instead of procrastinating and putting off anything that is a bit more of a challenge (God knows this year has been full of challenges already)

It all comes down to money in the end. Anyone who says otherwise, has never had to manage without it. So we sat and made a list. A long list. Things we have to do, sell & sort out.

We got up at 10. Had breakfast and went for a walk together. The dogs came too. We talked.

At home we had coffee then started on the jobs. Jon managed to get Mollie's bedroom wallpapered & painted. It took all day, but now it is done! He feels like he ate a frog, if you know what I mean?

I washed the Renault, then took photos. Took photos of the top box too. Both need to be sold. I also washed the Honda, so that looks nice! Later, between multiple sneezing fits, I cut the grass.

My biggest frog is the question over PPI. Not really sure if we paid it or not, whether it was mis-sold if we did, and no paperwork on any old loans. I listed all the cars we've bought and roughly when. It's a long shot, but this week I will write some letters. I'll also get the car on Gumtree. When I feel a bit better, I'll start making earrings again. Jon is working on content for his website and with the help of a good friend, we hope to have something concrete soon.

This coming week has to have a more positive outlook. Last week we hit one of those troughs they say comes after a redundancy. I know only too well how long that drags on, and those feelings of worthlessness go round in your head. Only positive thinking can drag you back out of it. That's hard after redundancy.

So tomorrow is a new week. And this is the first blip I've done in the bath - time to get out now for Downton!
