I have very fond memories of Halsway Manor near Crowcombe in Somerset. My father used to organise RSPB retreats there when I was a child. Apart from passing by a couple of times I haven't been up to the house since I was about 7 years old.

Halsway was a stop over on the way back from Dunster Castle. Our Sunday NT fix which turned out to be stunning. An old castle transformed into a Manor House by its last owner in the 1860's.

Beautifully kept house with a functioning water mill on the grounds. I love the sounds a smell of old machinery clunking away. Perhaps I was a train driver in a previous life.
