Jinxy

To day was to have been the start of our towns 17th annual Festival but it had to be called off because of the waterlogged field which is a shame because the weather today has been quite good. The fields in which it is held were originally part of the water meadows for two rivers that meet near the town and used to flood most years in the winter months. In recent years work has been carried out to stop the flooding so they can be used for farming through the year.

I drove passed this morning and it was a sad sight with the tents already being taken down and the access roads already a sea of mud.

Jinxy and I have been in charge of the house today as Mrs M was off out so we had some good walks. Although he loves his ball thrown, when he gets tired we are only allowed to kick it a short distance and no throwing!
