Gotcha!

Glad I got this one in the morning when I was oblivious and just gutting it out through the pain.  My now infamous fall was on Sat 29 August and I had x-rays on the hand the following Wednesday after it ballooned to the size of a baseball.  No fractures, they said at the time, simply deep tissue bruising.

Well, the malformation of my hand never changed and the pain never subsided.  Late today I finally saw an orthopedic specialist who ordered an immediate set of new x-rays to confirm what he diagnosed at first sight..

I have a major fracture  just below my knuckle (the knuckle is invisible).  It is partially healed, which is no surprise.  I will have surgery on my hand to return it to normal functioning a week from this Thursday.

On a more frightening note (?) there has never  been a greater threat to my consecutive blip streak than this setback. Three illness hospitalizations, two eye, two elbow and two cervical spine surgeries all since I've been Blipping and a trip over a rock may take me out!
