Hello summer!
The warmth greeted me when i opened the door this morning, it was to be a beautiful feels like summer kind of day.
I had a few errands to run but all locally so while my mum was here with the boys as they played in the water table i went and sent a couple of parcels off and picked up Kanyes script.
While i was out this afternoon at the supermarket Andres good friend came by with is wife and kids, hes in the military and hes about to head out of country for a while so popped by to say hey and pick up the laptop andre had fixed .
When i got back they had gone so i missed seeing them but we decided to go to the beach , it was so hot out it seemed like a beach kind of day.
We walked along the pier, there were a lot of people fishing along there.
It was nice spending time as family, the boys really loved it, it was Harper first time along the pier and seeing big kites in the sky. He took off from Andre and mar running down the pier wind in his baby hair. As i followed behind with Kanye a seagull bombed me with poop, all down my arm.
Marley laughed so much at that but hey its lucky right?
The wind started to cool and i had fears as every mother does in new situations- you picture what could happen. So i feared about head getting stuck between the metal bars, i pictured a little arm getting stuck in the hole that drains from the pier into the sea, i pictured fishing hooks flying and grabbing Harper. Of course none of that happened but you know these things sometimes cross your mind, always be prepared with little boys i say.
I mean you just have to take an incident like Harper trying to ride the skateboard today where it flew up and hit his mouth, it cut the outer and inner of his lip which his now still very swollen and purple.
We went to the local fish and chip shop and got some dinner , we went back to the car and ate while we watched the kites and threw bits of chips to the gulls that were circling the car. There's something about gulls that kids love, the noise they make , the look of them. Everything the gulls do is funny to my guys.
Now as i write this and the boys have crashed and are sound asleep in bed its still warm, we have windows open and its quiet.
With today the way it was and us now having a car to go to fun events and family days i'm really looking forward to summer.
