Old and new.
One Street 46
Had a little walk around the village this morning taking in the Post Office and the Garden Centre.
It was warm and increasingly sunny after a damp start and it was great to see the brown leaves and Autumn fruits on the path.
The trees in St Ives are changing colour and I liked this view across the village football pitch to the woods taking in the old property at Cuckoos Nest (17th century) to the right and the new build on the left. There used to be an old walled garden here and I'm told a kennel originally for the Hall belonging to the Ferrand family. (Harden Hall which became St Ives Mansion)
I liked the gate into the walled garden as it reminded of the Secret Garden but it was sold last year and they have been building ever since. In the winter when the trees are bare we can see the building from our bedroom window. It is taking some finishing and it is quite an unusual design. Unfortunately I wasn't present when our walking ladies got a chance to look around. It's certainly big!
As you can see I got photobombed by a bug, not sure what it was!
