Oh..dear....

Woke this morning to find four baby House Martins dead on the patio. The nest was still intact and the little birds were all perfect. No signs of predation they had all just been thrown out of the nest. This is either the ongoing feud between the Martins and the House Sparrows or as I saw once on Springwatch with the swallows they were filming, the female takes on a new partner who immediately thows out the young to be replaced with his own genetic stock. Nature is not always cosy.
