Trust me
I'm in charge of keeping Grandpa's fish alive. It's a big responsibility. They're mostly koi, spread out in four small ponds, and I've grown very fond of them these past few months. Trouble is, they seemed to do best when they were forgotten for four or five days in August before we figured out that each of us was certain someone else was feeding them. Now that I'm the one, I'm convinced I'm killing them...and not slowly, either. They're fat, the lot of them, and sort of pregnant looking. I just can't tell if I'm being evil or kind. And they trust me, the poor things...
Grandpa's spring garden is in full bloom, and it's a good thing I haven't been tasked with keeping his roses alive too.
